It’s time to party like it’s 2011. Friday night’s TBT semifinal matchup between La Familia and Carmen’s Crew will serve as somewhat of a rematch from Kentucky’s Sweet 16 victory over the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament. La Familia is the early choice to continue its quest for $1 million in the TBT.

Shortly after La Familia disposed of The Ville in front of more than 13,000 fans at Freedom Hall, DraftKings set the TBT semifinal line at La Familia -2.5 over the Ohio State alumni team. The total is 147.5.

Carmen’s Crew advanced to the Final Four of the TBT in dominating fashion. The Ohio State alumni led by double digits during the duration of the 90-74 victory over Takeover BC. Carmen’s Crew shot 42.1% from the three-point line in the first Louisville quarterfinal. Andre Wesson made 4 of 5 attempted from long range to lead the team in scoring with 16 points.

The most notable name on the opposing sideline is Jared Sullinger. The former first round pick averages nine points and over eight rebounds per game for Carmen’s Crew. Sullinger has spent almost as many years in the TBT as he did in the NBA, playing four of his five professional seasons with the Boston Celtics.

Sullinger has become a staple for the Ohio State alumni team. He began playing with the team when they were known as “Scarlet & Gray” back in 2017. Sullinger was on the bench as a coach when Aaron Craft and William Buford led Carmen’s Crew to a TBT title back in 2019.

For Kentucky fans, the lasting image of Jared Sullinger includes a basketball in his chest. Josh Harrelson pummeled the ball off the power forward to retain possession near the sideline of that 2011 upset in Newark. Jorts had 17 and 10 against the All-American, opening the door for Brandon Knight to deliver a dagger with only seconds left on the clock.

Sullinger is the only holdover from that game still playing in TBT. There are a few other names from the past participating in Friday night’s semifinal. Andre Wesson and Kaleb Wesson are brothers who suited up for the Buckeyes from 2017-2020. Kyle Young was on the team from 2017-22. All three helped the Buckeyes beat the Cats in the 2019 CBS Sports Classic.

La Familia and Carmen’s Crew will meet in the TBT semifinals Friday night at approximately 9 pm EST. You can watch all of the action from Philadelphia on FS1.
