A decision is coming for one of the top players in the transfer portal — and Kentucky is a finalist to land his commitment.

Sam Houston State star transfer Lamar Wilkerson has cancelled all remaining visits and will choose between Kentucky and Indiana, sources tell KSR. He previously had trips planned to Auburn and Ole Miss.

Wilkerson will return home Monday evening and weigh his two options with family before making a final decision this week.

The 6-5 rising senior out of Ashdown, AR just wrapped up an official visit to Lexington, which came immediately following a trip to Bloomington — his only two visits before shutting down his recruitment.

Wilkerson is coming off his junior season at Sam Houston State, one that saw him emerge as a top-15 scorer in college basketball, averaging 20.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.1 steals per contest while shooting 47.7 percent from the field, 44.5 percent from three and 82.2 percent from the free-throw line. He had 17 games with 20-plus points and reached the double-figure scoring mark in all 32 contests.

Can Mark Pope add the No. 26 overall prospect and seventh-best available player in the portal? He only has to fight off the Hoosiers now before putting a bow on the 2025-26 roster — one that’s on the cusp of legitimate contender status.
