Of all the player introductions we’ve seen over the years at Kentucky, I’m not sure any have included a Wildcat rapping his own song down the steps and out to the floor at Rupp Arena where he’s surrounded by dancing teammates in front of 22K strong.

But Lamont Butlers don’t come around too often.

Kentucky’s starting point guard previewed his new song ahead of Big Blue Madness before performing it in front of the sold-out crowd.

“Amari (Williams) and BG (Brandon Garrison) on the rim, and I bet they hang. I don’t even have to shoot my shot, I just catch and bang. Outlet, we running up and down the floor, you can’t press us, gang,” Butler rapped. “I can’t wait to play in Rupp, I just count the titles. All the girls come and say, ‘Hi Kerr (Kriisa)!’ like some mountain climbers. Too many people say they’ve got motion, it’s a thousand liars. Travis’ (Perry) jumper got good mechanics like he’s mounting tires.”

Butler lip-synced the entire thing, but it’s the thought that counts. Bonus points for creativity.

But what’s next? That couldn’t have been the last we’ve heard of the song, right? There has to be an official release of the track singling out his teammates while talking about his time in Lexington and closing out his career at Kentucky?

Good news, Big Blue Nation. It’s coming your way tonight at midnight — including a music video, which was previewed by Butler this afternoon on social media.

“Music Video dropping tonight,” Butler announced. “Shoutout to BBN for showing out for Big Blue Madness.”

The double Butler look in his Kentucky jersey, plus a behind-the-scenes look at his Madness performance? Oh, it’s gonna be spectacular.

Who is going to be the first record label to sign the Wildcat point guard to an NIL deal?
