Kentucky offensive coordinator Liam Coen had a medical episode Sunday afternoon, the university announced this evening. The incident occurred at approximately 12:40 p.m. ET and he is considered to be in “good condition.”

Coen will continue to be monitored by doctors and medical personnel in hopes of being released Monday.

“On Sept. 10, 2023, at approximately 12:40 p.m., assistant football coach Liam Coen had a medical episode while at work at UK’s football offices on campus,” the University of Kentucky announced. “He is currently in good condition at UK Chandler Hospital, while doctors and medical personnel continue to monitor him, and is expected to be released Monday.

“Out of respect for his privacy and that of his family, we will have no additional comment at this time.”

Coen returned to the Kentucky football program in 2023 after serving one season as the offensive coordinator for the Los Angeles Rams in 2022. He is the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach, titles he also held at UK in 2021.

The 37-year-old coach is married to Ashley Coen and the two have one son, Jackson.

KSR extends its thoughts and prayers to the Coen family at this time. More information to come as it becomes available.
