Liam Coen has been released from the hospital and is in good condition following a medical episode suffered on Sunday, the University of Kentucky has confirmed with Kentucky Sports Radio. The Kentucky offensive coordinator thanked the Big Blue Nation for their support during this tumultuous time.

“My family and I thank you for all the support and prayers these past couple of days,” Coen shared on Twitter. “The #BBN community is truly amazing. I’m doing much better, thankful for the care I received at UK Chandler Hospital, and can’t wait to see you Saturday at Kroger Field — Go Cats!”

Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops was unable to provide specifics on the situation during his Monday press, but noted the outlook on Coen’s situation was “good” and he would “be back in our office” at some point.

“It’s been a challenging day or so for us,” Stoops said. “We will continue to push forward as always. I think the prognosis of things looks good with the people in our office and that will be back in our office. I’ll leave it at that on that subject.”

When asked how Kentucky’s offense will prepare for Akron given Coen’s situation, Stoops said there is a plan in place, but declined to say who will call plays on Saturday.

“We’ll be fine. We’ve got it under control. We’ve worked extremely hard after a challenging day. We had a good work night. Got some things in place and we will move forward and get corrections made from this past game.”

Sunday night, UK released a statement saying that Coen had a “medical episode” at the Kentucky Football training facility on Sunday and was in good condition at UK Chandler Hospital.

Typically, Tuesday practices at the Joe Craft Football Training Facility are followed by a media opportunity with Liam Coen and members of the offense. Instead, Brad White and the Kentucky defense will take the podium this evening.
