New tights end coach Derek Shay has take over for Vince Marrow at Kentucky. The former quality control assistant is now looking to impact the roster via recruiting. A surprise tight end visitor has emerged.

Port Huron (Mich.) Northern tight end Lincoln Watkins has made it down to the Lexington for a mid-week official visit.

Lincoln Watkins is the No. 591 overall prospect in the 2026 On3 Industry Ranking and the No. 11 player in Michigan. The high three-star prospect recently took an official visit to Florida. However, the Gators just took a commitment from tight end Kekua Aumua. Kentucky entered the race with an offer on June 14. The Cats have gotten Watkins on campus just a few short days later.

Unranked tight end Ben Moseley is also expected to be a mid-week visitor as the Cats search to address the position in the 2026 recruiting cycle. Shay could be ready to make a big splash on the trail immediately for Kentucky.
