Folks, we have the Dino Gaudio audio. We now know the intimate details of the second federal extortion scandal for the Louisville basketball team in the last decade.

Chris Mack secretly recorded the conversation in which Dino Gaudio threatened to reveal NCAA recruiting violations if he did not get paid 17 months severance pay, amounting to $425,000. Drew Deener of ESPN Louisville obtained the audio that contains many, many expletives.

“You’re going to be thinking long and hard about this one, dude,” Gaudio began the conversation with Mack.

In the clip you will hear Gaudio call Vince Tyra a toad. In addition to that burn, you will hear a clear-cut case of extortion, with Gaudio uttering the phrase “or else” time and time again.

“You let me know in the next 24 hours,” Gaudio says. Mack asks him to sit down. “I’m not trying to f*** your family up. I’m not trying to f*** your money up. … I have got to go in a different direction with a lot of the staff. … This is my livelihood.”

Today Gaudio was sentenced to one year probation and fined $10,000 after pleading guilty to the federal extortion charge. To add to the fallout, Chris Mack was suspended without pay for the first six games of the Louisville basketball season, amounting to approximately $221,000.

Of all the UofL scandals over the last decade, the Dino Gaudio Audio might be the most entertaining moment yet.
