Logan Martin Selected in 12th Round of MLB Draft by Kansas City Royals
After spending just one season in Lexington following his transfer from the University of the South prior to the 2023 season, Kentucky baseball RHP Logan Martin was selected in the 12th round with the 349th pick in the 2023 MLB Draft by the Kansas City Royals on Tuesday afternoon.
Martin was named 2022 SAA Pitcher of the Year, bringing lofty expectations to Kentucky when he announced his transfer. However, he dealt with injuries for most of the season, limiting him to just nine pitching appearances last year. He started eight of those nine games, boasting a 1-1 record with a 4.44 ERA over 26.1 innings pitched.

Martin, who is originally from western Kentucky, will now begin his march to The Show with the Royals.
