LOOK: 5-star SF Will Riley rocks Kentucky uniform during official visit
Kentucky men’s basketball target Will Riley just wrapped up his official visit with Kentucky. The five-star wing arrived in Lexington on Tuesday and is scheduled to head to Alabama sometime on Thursday for his third OV this week. It certainly feels like Riley is ramping up his recruitment with a possible commitment right around the corner.
The big question: Which year will he play college basketball? Riley, ranked No. 10 overall in the class of 2025 by On3, is seriously considering a jump to the 2024 recruiting cycle. If he ultimately makes the leap, he would suit up to play college basketball in 2024-25. Riley has been non-commital when asked which way he’s leaning in terms of a reclass, but he acknowledges it’s 100 percent on the table.
New Kentucky head coach Mark Pope still has one more scholarship to play with, too. Could it go to Riley? The 6-foot-9 Canadian prospect sure does look good in a Wildcats uniform. On Thursday afternoon, Riley posted pictures to Instagram from the photoshoot portion of his official visit to UK.
The Drake photoshop is my personal favorite (let’s just pretend for the moment that his losing beef battle with Kendrick Lamar doesn’t exist).
Landing Riley isn’t going to be as simple as getting him to take photos inside the Rupp Arena locker room, though (no shovel props, either — hooray!!). A consensus Top 25 prospect by all four major recruiting services and with a chance to play this coming season, there are plenty of suitors after him.

Prior to his Kentucky official visit, Riley spent a couple of days at Illinois. One of the Illini’s new coaches is former UK assistant Orlando Antigua, who was recruiting Riley to Lexington while on John Calipari’s staff. Illinois wasn’t even included in Riley’s group of five finalists (announced in late April), which features Kentucky, Arizona, Alabama, Arkansas, and the NBL.
Along with Illinois and Kentucky, Riley also officially visited Arizona in March. He’ll spend the next couple of days at Alabama before the weekend. Arkansas (now coached by Calipari) is the lone school yet to receive an OV — whether that happens or not will be significant.
We could be coming down the home stretch with this recruitment and Kentucky is right in the thick of it. Check out some of the pictures from Riley’s visit to Lexington below.
