A school-record 22 athletes and coaches from the University of Kentucky have taken over Paris to open the 2024 Olympic Games, spread across seven countries and six sports. And they all look ready to compete on the world stage, arriving at the Games of the XXXIII Olympiad dressed for success.

Of the 22 current and former Wildcats in Paris, many of the 13 representatives from the United States found each other at the Opening Ceremonies on Friday, ranging from track and field star Masai Russell to basketball stars Anthony Davis, Devin Booker, Bam Adebayo and Rhyne Howard to volleyball star Avery Skinner.

The photos prove something we’ve known forever: blue always gets in.

It wasn’t just the Americans representing the University of Kentucky well, either. Olympic gold medalist Jasmine Camacho-Quinn, UK Class of 2017, was the flag bearer for Puerto Rico as the boats floated down the Seine River — the ultimate honor for the former Wildcat.
