The addition of Javeon Campbell is the latest in what is becoming a long line of commitments for the Kentucky football recruiting operation. The following statement is not hyperbole.

This is shaping up to be one of the best recruiting classes in the history of the Kentucky football program.

Big Blue Nation first caught a football recruiting buzz when Mark Stoops landed a bunch of four-stars early in the 2014 recruiting class, briefly vaulting up to No. 1 in the middle of the summer. When the dust finally settled, the Cats finished ranked No. 20 with eight four-star signees and only one Top 200 player. The high watermark of 2021 — No. 17 in the final recruiting rankings — included ten four-star signees and three Top 200 players.

Kentucky currently has four Top 200 commits. That’s a new high for the program. Oh, and the Cats are finalists for another Top 200 player who is announcing his decision later this week.

The Cats are firing on all cylinders, hitting on talented top-end targets at an incredible rate. Following the addition of Campbell, Kentucky has the No. 23 recruiting class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking.

The 2025 Kentucky Football Recruiting Class

The Wildcats currently have six four-star commitments in the 2025 recruiting class and eight Top 500 talents. The top two players from Kentucky have committed to play for their home state school, although most of the Cats’ damage is being done in Ohio. Six of the 15 future Wildcats are from the Buckeye State. A positional breakdown of the current recruiting class:

  • Defensive Backs: 3
  • EDGE/DL: 3
  • IOL: 1
  • OT: 2
  • RB: 1
  • QB: 2
  • WR: 3

Who’s Next?

Javeon Campbell was the first of four Kentucky targets to announce his decision this week in conjunction with the Fourth of July holiday. WR Samari Reed is up next, announcing his decision on Wednesday. He’s the only prospect that Kentucky isn’t favored to land by the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM).

Another talented offensive tackle from Ohio, Jermiel Atkins, is announcing his college plans on Independence Day. Dawayne Galloway, a Top 200 cornerback from Columbus, will wait until July 5 to make his announcement.
