Louisville offers former Kentucky basketball commit Skyy Clark

Kenny Payne is making a push for former Kentucky basketball commitment Skyy Clark.
Sources tell KSR that the new Louisville head coach has extended an offer to the five-star guard, joining a list of over 20 schools to do so. Contact began shortly after Payne was hired at Louisville last week.
Clark decommitted from Kentucky back on March 6, cutting ties with the program after first committing back in October 2020.
“It was a lot of thinking and a lot of praying, but it has nothing to do with anything Coach Cal, the assistant coaches, or anything UK did,” Clark told KSR. “They’ve been nothing but supportive through this whole process. I just had a lot of time to sit around and think. Since watching the team and the way the roster is looking for next season, I haven’t really seen a fit for myself. …
“I just really wanted to step back and assess myself and my options and see if it was still the best situation for me. What I’ve learned is basketball is more than a game now, it’s a business. I just want to do what’s best for me going forward.”

Tennessee was the first school to extend an offer, a source tells KSR, with a long list of other schools also in line fighting to sign the top uncommitted guard in the class of 2022.
Now, Louisville has jumped into the race, led by former Kentucky basketball assistant Kenny Payne.
“Just a school I can come to and know I’m going to develop, I’m going to be pushed,” Clark said of what he’s looking for in a program. “Where I know I’m confident in the coaching staff and my ability, what I can do. Really just take a lot of time to pray. I’ll know what the right move is because the one thing I know is God will never leave me. I know if I put my trust in him and just really focus these next few weeks, I know he’ll lead me to the right place.”
Could Louisville be that destination? It’s now on the table.
Clark is rated as the No. 32 overall prospect and No. 7 combo guard in the latest On3 Consensus, a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four major recruiting media services.
