It’s only been a week since we received confirmation that Barion Brown‘s time at Kentucky reached an end. Now the UK wide receiver appears to be on the verge of finding a new home for his final season of college football.

The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) was firing on all cylinders Thursday afternoon. Brown is considering a few SEC schools — Ole Miss, Texas A&M, with Florida State as the one outlier — but one is standing out above the rest.

Not one, not two, but three On3 experts logged RPM picks for Barion Brown to transfer to LSU. It’s at least one SEC school that will not be on Kentucky’s SEC schedule next fall.

Brown set the SEC record for kickoff return touchdowns when he took one back 99 yards for a score at Florida, the fifth of his career. He was a First-Team All-SEC selection as a return specialist by the league’s coaches. The Associated Press voters tabbed Brown as a First-Team All-SEC all-purpose back.

During his three seasons in Lexington, the Nashville native caught 122 passes for 1,528 yards and 11 touchdowns. His last season at Kentucky was his least productive, tallying only 29 receptions for 361 yards and 3 touchdowns, all of which were career-lows.

Dane Key Might Also Stay in the SEC

Barion Brown might not be the only former Wildcat wide receiver to transfer to another SEC school. Matt Zenitz reports that Dane Key is expected to visit Georgia next week. Nebraska is also in the mix, but it sounds like the Dawgs are the early leader in the clubhouse. Kentucky travels to Sanford Stadium on Oct. 4, 2025.
