Will Wade’s LSU team was not messing around in the second round of the 2022 SEC Tournament.

After a late start thanks to a wild overtime game between Florida and Texas A&M, the Bayou Bengals hit the court like a team that was ticked off about the recent Notice of Allegations that was just given to the university by the NCAA.

Wade’s team came out hot and dropped 39 points in the first half with SEC Sixth Man of Year Tari Eason leading the way. The Cincinnati transfer led the Tigers with 19 points on 11 field goal attempts with five rebounds as LSU averaged 1.12 points per possession in the 76-68 victory.

LSU built a 25-point lead in the first half, but saw a late Missouri flurry in the second half fall short as the Bayou Bengals never really broke a sweat in the eight-point victory.

The season ends for Cuonzo’s Martin fifth team at Missouri in a disappointing fashion. The Tigers finished the season 12-21 (5-13) and weren’t relevant the entire season. However, star five-man Kobe Brown is scheduled to return for his senior campaign in 2022-23 and should give the Tigers a cornerstone piece in what will be a must-win season for the former Tennessee and California head coach.

Arkansas vs. LSU, Round III

It’s not hyperbole to say that the 2022 SEC Tournament is the most anticipated in quite some time. For the first time since 2019, fans will be in the stands at 100 percent capacity and the league has returned to the Sunshine State for the first time in over a decade. Meanwhile, the conference has six legitimate top-25 caliber teams.

Yet, the potential rematches from the regular season are what has everyone excited.

Everyone wants to see Kentucky and Auburn on Sunday. Meanwhile, there could be a rubber match between the Wildcats and Tennessee on Saturday. Also, Auburn could be looking for revenge against Arkansas. However, we’ve got one of those anticipated matchups now locked in for Friday.

The Hogs and LSU will now meet for the third time this season, and Eric Musselman’s squad won the first two meetings by a combined eight points. On March 2, the two programs played a thriller at Bud Walton Arena that included multiple lead changes with Arkansas squeaky out a victory late.

At the 2021 SEC Tournament, LSU upset Arkansas in the semifinals, and now these programs will go at it again. Get by a television for the late Friday afternoon window as it could turn into one of the best games of the weekend featuring two teams that want to play fast while getting after it defensively.
