Lynn Bowden to be released by Miami Dolphins
Lynn Bowden‘s time in Miami has come to an end. Adam Schefter is reporting that the Dolphins will release the former Kentucky Wildcat today, the final day teams have to trim their rosters to 53 before the season begins. Shortly before Schefter broke the news, Bowden tweeted this goodbye to fans in Miami.
Bowden was selected by the Las Vegas Raiders with the 80th overall pick in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft. That September, he was traded to Miami. In his first season with the Dolphins, Bowden had 28 receptions for 211 yards in ten games. He didn’t play last season because he was on injured reserve. There was talk that the Dolphins may trade Bowden ahead of today’s deadline, but that doesn’t appear to be the case.
Despite his struggles with the Dolphins, Bowden shined this preseason. He had three catches for 55 yards and a touchdown in the opener vs. Tampa Bay and a 39-yard touchdown vs. the Philadelphia Eagles this past Saturday.
Hopefully, Bowden doesn’t have to wait long to find a new home and a fresh start.
