An untimely injury will prevent Lynn Bowden from showing off his skills at this week's NFL Combine in Indianapolis. In his first media opportunity at the pre-NFL Draft event, Bowden revealed that he suffered an injury to his right hamstring in the days leading up to the event. "I'm very disappointed," he said. "I literally just did it two or three days before I got here." Rather than risk posting a poor time, Bowden will wait until UK hosts its Pro Day on March 27th to run the 40-yard dash and perform other combine drills. The injury happened as Bowden trained with Exos Performance in Pensacola, an outfit that helps players maximize their output in combine drills. "It's my first time in my life training. That's something different for me. I've just been trying to soak everything up," said Bowden. It's different because you've got to focus on what the trainers want you to focus on, when in practice you can just go with the flow and let yourself go. It ain't like that in training." Regardless of what times Bowden eventually posts in the combine drills, he does not believe they paint an accurate picture of what he can do on a football field. "It really doesn't. I feel like it's just a platform for the teams to get to know you, for real. It ain't got nothing to do with football. Forty-speed is different than game speed."
