Malik Cunningham says Louisville will show that it's better than Kentucky this year
Though he plays for Louisville, Malik Cunningham was talking about Kentucky Football at the ACC Kickoff in Charlotte yesterday. The Cards’ fifth-year QB was asked about the chip on Louisville’s shoulder and his Governor’s Cup rival, and Cunningham didn’t shy away from stirring the pot months before his fourth and final attempt against the Wildcats.
In his first three career games versus Kentucky, Cunningham and his Louisville teammates went 0-3 with a combined score of 153-44 in the three consecutive losses, two of which were on Louisville’s home field. Still, this is the year Louisville takes back the Governor’s Cup, he says.
“They swear the team up the street is that much better than us,” Cunningham told a group of ACC reporters, including WDRB. “And we’re going to show that they’re not this year.”
Louisville travels to Kroger Field on November 26 for the regular season finale.
Good luck with that.
