High 3-star LB Marcellius Pulliam opens up on Kentucky
One of the biggest remaining needs for Kentucky in the class of 2023 is at off-ball linebacker. The coaching staff went into Greater Atlanta to land four-star Grant Godfrey earlier this cycle, but he needs a running mate.
After missing out on a few targets earlier in this recruiting cycle, Tyrone (Ga.) Sandy Creek linebacker Marcellius Pulliam is emerging as an important target for defensive backs coach Chris Collins.
The high three-star linebacker took an unofficial visit to Kentucky in June and has three official visits scheduled with Auburn (Sept. 24), Miami (Oct. 8), and Kentucky (Oct. 15) for game weekends this season.
The prospect spoke with Ryan Wright of Rivals and talked about his recruitment with Kentucky.
“Kentucky was one of the later schools to offer me. Coach (Chris) Collins is my recruiter,” Wright told Rivals. “He has been around the school. When it was time to put a name with the face, it was great. I feel like it is different over text and then meeting in person was different. He kept telling me we want you down here and you have to see this place, it is amazing. He didn’t lie. The campus is beautiful. Kentucky has a good tradition of sending linebackers to the NFL, that is a great attribute as well.”

Michigan prepared to offer No. 1 recruit $10.5M over 4 years
Things are trending in the right direction for Kentucky at the moment. Collins is doing a good job for the coaching staff giving the Wildcats a presence in Metro Atlanta and Central Florida. Louisville and Indiana are also players in this recruitment, but neither has an official visit scheduled with Pulliam.
After the official visits are complete, Marcellius Pulliam plans to make a decision in October. Kentucky is firmly in the race.
Recruiting never stops.
