Mark Pope checked in on Acaden Lewis at Hoophall
Recruiting never stops in college basketball. Even on a big game weekend, work on the trail must be completed. Shortly after Kentucky’s tough home loss to Alabama, head coach Mark Pope was on the road.
At the Hoop Hall Classic in Massachusetts, Kentucky commit Acaden Lewis had a game bright and early at 8:30 a.m. ET. Pope was there in attendance watching his future point guard in action.
Acaden Lewis is the No. 34 overall player in On3’s 2025 player rankings. The left-handed guard prospect committed to Kentucky on Nov. 2 picking the Wildcats over Duke and UConn. North Carolina, Syracuse, Michigan, Tennessee, Auburn, Georgetown, and Virginia were also involved in this recruitment.
“I chose Kentucky because they made me the greatest priority,” Acaden Lewis told On3. “It really felt like it was just me or nothing. Or like me, or portal, you could say. Coach Pope and his staff have done a really good job of constantly applying pressure to make me feel like I’m the point guard that they need. I love the system.”
