Camps last year were held inside the Joe Craft Center and Historic Memorial Coliseum, a chance for the kids to meet their favorite players and Coach Pope for the very first time. There, they received hands-on instruction from the Wildcats with shooting, dribbling and passing drills while also getting to explore the basketball facilities, living the life of a Kentucky hooper for the day. Certified athletic trainers are stationed at each site for the duration of camp, plus other staff members to accommodate any questions or concerns. It is UK’s goal to ensure a safe and fun environment, which provides all campers the opportunity to maximize their Kentucky basketball experience.
What do you need to do on your end? Once registration is complete, campers will receive a confirmation email with details of documents needed (physical, insurance) along with other items they will need to bring for camp. Any camp-related questions can be called into the men’s basketball camp line at 859-257-9457 or 859-257-1916 or by email at [email protected].
As sad as it is to say goodbye to that first group, it’s time to get excited for Pope’s second in Lexington. They’ll be here before you know it — and the kids will be the first to meet them in June!
