Mark Pope's Call-In Show Debuts Tonight

Here’s something to brighten a gloomy Monday: Mark Pope’s call-in show debuts tonight. The new head coach of the Kentucky Wildcats will sit down with Tom Leach at 7 p.m. ET following Mark Stoops’ call-in show, which starts at 6 p.m. on the UK Sports Network (630 WLAP in Lexington).

Stoops at 6 p.m. and Pope at 7 p.m. will be the routine tonight and next week, when the shows will take place on Wednesday, the start of the Early Signing Period for football and the day after the basketball team’s trip to Clemson. Starting December 9, Pope’s show will move to 6 p.m., where it will live through March, except for the weeks that Kentucky plays on the road on Tuesdays, when the show will take place on Wednesdays.

Pope should have plenty to talk about tonight. Kentucky hosts Western Kentucky tomorrow night in the finale of the BBN Invitational (6:30 PM, ESPNU). The Cats are coming off a 108-59 win over Jackson State, a game that included 17 threes and 11 dunks. The crowds for Pope’s postgame radio show continue to grow as Big Blue Nation’s excitement for basketball skyrockets. An entire hour of Pope and Leach sounds like the perfect way to tip off a busy week.

The Stoops and Pope call-in shows are broadcast in Lexington on 630 WLAP, online via iHeart Radio, and on UK Sports Network affiliates.
