Mark Pope, Kenny Brooks hosted a meet-and-greet with the BBN on Tuesday

The Big Blue Nation was gifted an opportunity to chat it up with the two head coaches leading Kentucky basketball.
On Tuesday afternoon at the Beaumont Kroger in Lexington, men’s basketball coach Mark Pope and women’s basketball coach Kenny Brooks hosted a 90-minute meet-and-greet with anyone who showed up. Hundreds of Kentucky fans made the trip for the chance to talk with their favorite coaches, take pictures, and have memorabilia signed. The waiting line started at the front of the store and extended all the way to the back of the building as patient fans waited their turn.
Pope, who hosted Kentucky’s second team practice of the summer earlier in the day, brought the 1996 national championship trophy with him for fans to see and take pictures with. One fan showed Pope a candle that had a picture of him on the front (appropriately dressed in Pope gear) while another had him sign a denim Kentucky jersey with his number 41 on the back. Pope’s youngest daughter, Shay, even popped in to quickly say hello to her dad.
