Mark Stoops on bowl eligibility: "We want more"
For the sixth season in a row, Kentucky is bowl eligible. For the first time in 71 years, the Cats are 6-0. Mark Stoops isn’t satisfied. After Kentucky’s 42-21 win over LSU, Stoops told reporters his team has much more in mind than simply advancing to the postseason.
“It does because my equipment manager said he put out some shirts. I think it’s a big push for the bowl season campaign, you know. They put them out today. So, that’s good. They’ve got a new t-shirt. We want more.”
“More” starts with the biggest of opportunities, a showdown with No. 2 Georgia next Saturday in Athens. After Alabama’s loss to Texas A&M tonight, there is a very good chance Georgia will be the number one team in the country tomorrow. Regardless, Saturday’s game will be for sole possession of first place in the SEC. That sentence will never get old.

We’re all still in shock, but after seeing his team turn the page so quickly from the huge win over Florida, Stoops believes they will be ready for the challenge.
“I just felt good about it. I told you guys in the press conference on Monday that I felt confident they would just have a great week and I really did. When I went in there Monday afternoon with the team, they were really locked in. They just were ready to look forward to this week and I feel the same way. In the locker room right there, they’re happy, they’re celebrating a little bit but they’re excited about a big opportunity next week.”
LET’S. GO.
UPDATE: Here’s a look at those “Bowl Bound” shirts, by the way.
