WATCH: Mark Stoops speaks for final time before Tennessee game

Kentucky is fresh off a bye week and ready to get a bad taste out of their mouth after consecutive SEC losses to Georgia and Missouri. Tennessee is fresh off double-digit road loss to Alabama where the Volunteers blew a 20-7 lead. Both the Cats and the Vols have two conference losses heading into Week 9. We have a huge swing game taking place at Kroger Field on Saturday night.

After practice on Thursday, Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops met with the media one final time this week to discuss his team’s preparation for No. 21 Tennessee.

“Really excited and ready to get back out there. One thing about the bye week is that you always need it — mentally and physically. Getting rested a little bit and improving your football team but it is two weeks. We are anxious to get back out there and I really appreciate our team’s effort,” Mark Stoops told reporters. “Their attitude has been good. The coaches have worked hard to improve and get better.”

“We want to represent those fans the right way. We’ll be ready to play on Saturday.”

The talking is over. Mark Stoops and his team know it’s time to go play football.
