Your chance to see the Kentucky football team up close in action is right around the corner.

The University of Kentucky announced Kentucky Football Fan Day will be Saturday, August 5. The annual event is the best opportunity for the BBN to meet the players and coaches before the Cats kick off the season against Ball State at Kroger Field.

UK has more details to reveal at a later date. However, the event traditionally includes a meet-and-greet in the morning around 9 am, followed by an open practice. Fans line up to get posters signed and pictures taken with their favorite players, then watch them fly around the field in a lightly-padded practice.

Kentucky football preseason training camp begins next week. All hands will be on deck to prepare for the upcoming and they won’t be doing much else for the next few weeks. Fan Day is the best time to see the team before it’s all football, all the time.

Something else to keep in mind: there’s a good chance some of this event will take place in the Nutter Field House. If you attend, you’ll be one of the firsts to see inside the state-of-the-art renovated facility that includes a turf field named for Rich Brooks.

If you can’t make it, KSR will have all hands on deck to share photos, videos and more. But come on, don’t rely on us. Come out and see the Cats. After all, it’s almost Football Time in the Bluegrass.
