Marquan McCall came back as Justin Rogers' hype man
Kentucky Football was excited to have Marquan McCall back in the middle of the defensive line for the first time in six weeks. McCall was excited to be back, but not quite as excited as he was for teammate Justin Rogers’ first sack of the season.
In tonight’s highlight of the game, we look back at the moment cameras caught McCall celebrating Rogers’ first-quarter takedown of Vanderbilt’s quarterback. He need three get-back coaches.
McCall and Rogers are close friends and Detroit natives, and both made an impact in Nashville. Rogers got going early and finished with four tackles, two TFLs, and the sack; all while battling an injury.
Mark Stoops said after the game, “Justin was fighting through an injury of his own. He wasn’t quite 100 percent but he really fought through it and helped us and did some good things.”

Meanwhile, McCall made his long-awaited return from an injury he suffered in the first quarter of the Florida game on October 2. The senior they call Bully checked in on Kentucky’s second defensive stand but his energy was equally high on the sideline too.
Rogers loves having him back. He said, “It’s fun when we’re out there together. I want to show out and I know he wants to show out.”
