While Coach Cal was hanging out with the Kentucky Lumber Dealers Association (just another Thursday afternoon in the life of Calipari), Marquis Teague announced that he will be kicking Rick Pitino in the testicles attending the University of Kentucky.  The Courier-Journal’s Jody Demling spoke with Teague after his announcement and filmed the conversation so we believe he was actually there.

Mookie told the C-J that “it was neck and neck” and that it was hard to turn down Louisville considering his strong relationship with Rick Pitino and the staff.  Marquis says he chose Kentucky in the end because it’s the best decision for him and his family.  I think what he meant to say was, “Do I want to be Brandon Jenkins and Edgar Sosa or do I want to be John Wall and Brandon Knight?”  That question makes the decision a lot easier.

Teague also discussed the influence of Calipari.  He said he has been thinking about Kentucky ever since Coach Cal took the job.  He likes how Cal will allow him to play his game and not hold him back:

This recruiting thing is starting to seem a little too easy for Coach Cal and Kentucky.  It’s like he gets whoever he wants, whenever he wants, and it’s almost not even fair.  I’m no longer worried about losing Coach Cal to the NBA –  if he keeps bringing in young boys at this rate, we might lose him to the Vatican.

Go Cats.
