Matas Buzelis, Isaiah Miranda set to visit Kentucky for WKU game

A talented duo of high school juniors will be in Lexington starting on Wednesday. Five-star wing Matas Buzelis and four-star center Isaiah Miranda are expected to be on Kentucky’s campus to watch the Wildcats host Western Kentucky University on Wednesday night. The two were originally scheduled to visit for the Louisville game, but will still make the trip despite the change in opponent.
Kentucky has hosted a slew of the country’s top class of 2023 prospects, most of them ending with a scholarship being extended. Head coach John Calipari has brought the likes of DJ Wagner (No. 1 in On3’s Consensus ratings), Kwame Evans Jr. (No. 2), Mackenzie Mgbako (No. 4), JJ Taylor (No. 5), Mookie Cook (No. 6), Justin Edwards (No. 9), Robert Dillingham (No. 11), and Elijah Fisher (No. 24) to campus since October. Those who didn’t already hold a UK offer all picked one up by the time they left Lexington.

The belief is that Buzelis (No. 10) and Miranda (No. 36) will both receive Kentucky offers by the time their official visits are over.
Staring with Buzelis, the 6-foot-10 versatile wing was one of the biggest stock risers over the summer. Originally from Chicago, he already has a strong relationship with UK assistant Chin Coleman that dates back to their days with the Mac Irvin Fire AAU team. Calipari has made multiple trips to watch Buzelis play in recent months, too. Duke is also expressing heavy interest, while Florida State and Wake Forest have been able to get him on campus.
Miranda, a 200-pound seven-footer, is a possible 2022 reclassification candidate but remains in the class of 2023 as of now. He’s not as highly regarded as the other names mentioned, but his height puts him at a premium. Miranda is still a bit of an unknown commodity, but we should learn more about where he stands with Kentucky once his visit is over.
