Cincinnati (Ohio) Moeller two-sport standout Matt Ponatoski headed out to Los Angeles for the Elite 11 finals after making surprise one-day visit to Kentucky on Monday. The four-star prospect made a big splash at the prestigious event.

Texas commit Dia Bell was named the winner of the event, but perhaps no player helped themselves more than Mr. Football in Ohio. On3’s Charles Power was in attendance for the entirety of the event and named Ponatoski the most accurate passer in attendance.

“Matt Ponatoski consistently threw catchable balls over the week at the Elite 11 Finals. We thought he was clearly the most accurate over the first two days. Ponatoski was a standout on Day 1, serving up well-placed, timely passes at a high rate. He carried that over into the pro day workout, where he earned the day’s highest score from the Elite 11 staff,” Power writes. “The dual-sport star showed sound mechanics and the ability to locate his passes with ease. His showing is made even more impressive by the fact that he spends much of his off-season on baseball rather than quarterback training.”

The No. 285 overall prospect in the 2026 On3 Industry Ranking will likely receive a rankings bump soon. Ponatoski impressed many in Southern California and could become a cornerstone piece of Kentucky’s recruiting class. The baseball start started an official visit to Oregon on Friday but is expected to shift into decision-making mode once that trip in the Pacific Northwest ends. Kentucky currently has some buzz in that recruiting battle.

Kentucky could be on the verge of adding one of the fastest-rising prospects in the 2026 class. Matt Ponatoski’s huge year continued at Elite 11. Will that end with a monster recruiting win for the Cats?

We will find out soon.
