Meet the 1978 NCAA National Champs tomorrow in Lexington and Louisville

The 1977-78 Kentucky Wildcats are getting together tomorrow for a reunion and you’re invited to meet some of the players from that 30-2 season, Kentucky’s fifth national championship run.

James Lee, Jack Givens, Rick Robey, Jay Shidler, Mike Phillips and Kyle Macy will be together on the second floor of the Rupp Arena shops prior to tomorrow’s game from 10:00 to 11:45 am. Limited edition posters signed by all six players will be available for $25.

After the game, UK fans in Louisville will also have their chance to meet the ’78 champs. The guys will be in Louisville at the Kentucky Expo Center from 4:30 to 6:30 pm. Again, signed posters will be available for $25.

The poster commemorates the Cats’ 94-88 win in the title game against the Duke Blue Devils, a game that saw one of the NCAA tournament’s best individual performances. Jack Givens scored 41 points on 18-of-27 shooting to lead Kentucky to its first title in 20 years.
