Throughout the day, KSR is profiling who we’re hearing are the top candidate for UK’s offensive coordinator position. So far, we profiled ECU’s Lincoln Riley and Murray State's Chris Hatcher. Next up: Cincinnati offensive coordinator Eddie Gran.

EDDIE GRAN

Offensive philosophy: Pro-Style

Gran runs a balanced pro-style, multiple set attack that flourished at Florida State and is picking up steam in Cincinnati. Although not Air Raid, Gran specializes in the "Mach 5" up-tempo offense to keep defenses on their toes. He's considered an excellent recruiter with tons of SEC experience and has Cincinnati in the top-30 nationally in total offense.

Current offensive statistics:

Total offense: 30th, 453.9 yards per game, 4,993 total (1,739 rushing, 3,254 passing) Passing offense: 14th, 295.8 yards per game, 251-416 (60.3%) for 3,254 yards total, 31 touchdowns and 12 interceptions First downs: 30th, 23.5 per game, 258 total (87 rushing, 151 passing, 20 penalty)

Mark Stoops ties:

Stoops coached with Gran for three seasons at Florida State, where the two helped the Seminoles to ACC and Orange Bowl titles. Gran has extensive experience in the SEC, coaching on Auburn, Tennessee, and Ole Miss' staffs; however he is tight with Cincinnati head coach Tommy Tuberville, so prying him away from Cincy could be difficult.

Off the field...

He really loves to hunt. Here are just a few of the less gruesome pictures of his kills.
