Ben Ancheff The Reds are already tanking. There's no UK in the NCAAs. Clearly we need another baseball team to root for. How about Ben Ancheff and the NAIA St. Thomas University Bobcats? Generously listed at 6-2, 300 pounds, Ancheff went viral this weekend due to an appearance on national TV after pitching in the NAIA championship. A Twitter post yesterday from pitcher Jeff Dally fueled the flames. That led to LostLetterman.com to post the story, calling the pitcher the "Jared Lorenzen" of baseball. The guy is talented, too. Originally, he played for Georgia before landing at St. Thomas, and this weekend he pitched 4 1/3 innings and allowed just one run in the title game before leaving with an arm injury. Unfortunately, Lewis-Clark State rallied from a 7-3 deficit in the sixth inning to win the NAIA title, 10-7. As LostLetterman put it, Ancheff was the true winner, though. Of course, he has a Twitter page, too, which is sure to improve on its meager 73 followers due to this attention. Especially now, since Nick Schwartz of USA Today has the story.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-vjbr9J8HyM Stay with us - more basketball and football news to come! Go Big Blue!
