Message Board Posters want to Hire Kentucky's Mark Stoops
For the first time in a very long time, Mark Stoops is getting real heat from Kentucky football fans. There are some other college football fans who are still interested in his services.
Stoops bought up a significant amount of goodwill with a pair of 10-win seasons over a four-year stretch. He became the school’s all-time leader in wins during consecutive disappointing 7-6 campaigns. Now the Cats are 3-4 in SEC play with losses to Vanderbilt, South Carolina, and Florida. Kentucky is 2-10 over its last dozen SEC home games. If there is a light at the end of the tunnel, it isn’t very bright.
There’s a saying coaches love to share with players after a loss. It’s never as good as it seems and it’s never as bad as it seems. A couple of fanbases who are down bad believe Mark Stoops could be just what their team needs.
Iowa
The Hawkeyes were sitting pretty, 4-2 overall with only one loss in Big Ten play, until they traveled to East Lansing. All of the good vibes from the Washington win were eroded away by Michigan State field goals. Sparty kicked seven of them to stun Iowa 32-20.
Following the drive to 325, fatigue over the Kirk Ferentz era appears to be creeping in over the cornfields. One Iowa fan is ready to offer the farm to Mark Stoops, which Andy Staples quipped, “The best part of this is they probably could offer an actual farm.”

The thought that Mark Stoops could return to his alma mater is not new. Timing is everything in this profession. It doesn’t feel like the timing is right for Stoops to get a new farm in Iowa.
Florida State
The undefeated team that was spurned by the CFB Playoff Committee has only won one game since, a 5-point nailbiter over Cal. Desperate times call for desperate measures and this fanbase is willing to eat dog poop to fix it.
Firing the coaches feels like the quickest fix. The problem is that they gave Mike Norvell an eight-year, $84 million extension worth more than $10 million per year when he was a candidate for the Alabama head coaching vacancy. It would cost approximately $64 million to fire him before Dec. 1.
Nevertheless, at least one Warchant user is ready to rip off the Band-Aid and turn to Mark Stoops. People forget that Stoops almost returned to Tallahassee in 2020, but Florida State ultimately chose Norvell instead.
