Miami transfer guard Wooga Poplar is latest to hear from Kentucky
We can’t go a full day anymore without a new transfer portal name popping up on Kentucky’s radar.
Dushawn London of 247Sports reported on Thursday that Miami (FL) transfer Wooga Poplar is the latest to have been contacted by Kentucky’s staff. The 6-foot-5 guard has spent the last three seasons with the Hurricanes but entered his name into the portal on Thursday. It didn’t take long for Mark Pope and Co. to reach out.
Poplar posted per-game averages of 13.1 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 2.8 assists in 31.1 minutes this past season. A rising senior, he shot 42.6 percent from the floor, 38.5 percent from long range, and 86.4 percent from the stripe while starting all 29 games played for the Hurricanes in 2023-24.
