Mike Edwards signs contract with Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Former Kentucky safety Mike Edwards just got paid.
This afternoon, the Honey Badger signed his rookie contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Per the terms of his draft selection, the former Wildcat’s deal should be worth roughly $3.34 million over four years to go with an $822K signing bonus.

The Buccaneers drafted Edwards in the third round with the 99th pick during the 2019 NFL Draft back in April. Following a strong start to rookie training camp and team OTAs, the former Wildcat is expected to compete for the starting safety job in Tampa this season.
At Kentucky, Edwards racked up 318 tackles in 44 career games, the second-highest total in school history among defensive backs. He also added 10 career interceptions (two returned for touchdowns) and 23 pass deflections.
