Mike Hartline is on his way back to the SEC. According to On3’s Matt Zenitz, the former Kentucky quarterback is joining Bryan Harsin’s staff at Auburn as an analyst.

For the past three seasons, Hartline has been the offensive coordinator at Ohio Dominican. Prior to that, he was the offensive quality control coach and assistant quarterbacks coach at Cincinnati. Hartline got his college football coaching start at Ohio State, where he worked with quarterbacks, including Cardale Jones, JT Barrett, Joe Burrow, and Dwayne Haskins, for two seasons as an intern.

Mike Hartline’s career at Kentucky

Over four seasons at Kentucky, Hartline threw for 5,680 yards and 38 touchdowns. As a sophomore, he earned Most Outstanding Offensive Player honors in the Liberty Bowl victory over East Carolina. In 2010, he and Randall Cobb led the Cats to the 31-28 upset of South Carolina, with Hartline throwing for a career-best 349 yards, four touchdowns, and zero interceptions. That performance earned him National Performer of the Week and National Quarterback of the Week honors. Hartline’s career at Kentucky ended early after he was suspended from the 2011 BBVA Compass Bowl. He had brief stints with the Indianapolis Colts and the New England Patriots in the NFL before moving on to his coaching career.

It’s a Thursday, so let’s throw it back to that 2010 win over the Gamecocks, one of my favorite Kentucky Football memories.
