Mississippi State beats Florida in OT to start Day 2 at SEC Tournament
If the first game of the day is any indication, we’re in for a very exciting afternoon of hoops. No. 9 seed Mississippi State just beat No. 8 seed Florida 69-68 in overtime to advance to the quarterfinals. The Bulldogs will play No. 1 seed Alabama tomorrow at 12 p.m. CT/1 p.m. ET.

Mississippi State’s Tolu Smith scored 7 of his 28 points in overtime to push the Bulldogs to the win, which they desperately need. Mississippi State is on the NCAA Tournament bubble, one of Joe Lunardi’s last four byes. The Bulldogs probably couldn’t have afforded a loss to the Gators today.
Here’s Smith’s game-winner:
No. 13 Ole Miss vs. No. 5 Tennessee is up next. Here’s the updated bracket.
