In news that will surprise absolutely no one, tomorrow night’s game between Kentucky and Mississippi State is officially sold out. Not only that, the Bulldogs are calling for a White Out.

No word on whether or not that includes free t-shirts or rally towels, but Humphrey Coliseum will be yet another Super Bowl environment for the No. 16 Cats, who stumbled on the road last week vs. LSU. Speaking of the Tigers, the Bulldogs just beat them by 20 in Baton Rouge for their fifth straight win, the longest active winning streak in the league.

The Mississippi State men’s basketball managers’ Twitter account is going as far as to call tomorrow the Bulldogs’ biggest home game in a decade. The clip they shared is from over two decades ago, Mississippi State’s overtime win vs. the No. 6 Cats in 2002.

Kentucky handled Mississippi State with relative ease at Rupp last month, winning 90-77. Only two Bulldogs finished in double figures scoring that game, Tolu Smith with 26 and Trey Fort with 13. Josh Hubbard, who was just named SEC Co-Freshman of the Week alongside Justin Edwards, scored only three points in Rupp on 1-11 shooting, 1-9 from three-point range. Hubbard had 32 points in the win over LSU on Saturday.

At 19-8, 8-6 in SEC play, Mississippi State is up to No. 28 in the NET Rankings and trending as a No. 9 seed in NCAA Tournament projections. The Bulldogs are 7-3 since their trip to Lexington and boast a defense just outside the top ten of KenPom’s ratings. KenPom projects Mississippi State to get the win tomorrow, 79-77 and the Bulldogs opened as a 2.5-point favorite. Chris Jans knows how significant a victory would be.

“It’s Kentucky. Everybody gets excited,” Jans said in his postgame press conference after the win over LSU. “I know our fans will be excited. We’re going to have a rocking Hump. It’s just a great opportunity for us.”

Hopefully, the Cats handle the pressure better than they did last week in Baton Rouge.
