Mitch Barnhart, John Calipari joint interview will air tonight
The meeting between Mitch Barnhart and John Calipari is the talk of the Big Blue Nation today. This morning on KSR, Matt Jones shared what he’s hearing went down in Mitch Barnhart’s office yesterday. Tonight, the two men will speak for themselves
Barnhart and Calipari filmed an interview with Keith Farmer that will appear on “BBN Tonight” at 7:30 p.m. ET on LEX18, the school’s official media partner, in Lexington. Barnhart shared a picture from said interview on his Twitter account moments ago.
“We appreciate everyone’s attention as we’ve had conversations the last few days. Coach Cal and I look forward to discussing more tonight.”
Any comments from Barnhart and Calipari are needed and overdue; hopefully, additional media opportunities will take place, as there is a litany of questions facing the program entering another critical offseason.

“There will be a change with at least one assistant and there will be some names that maybe you all don’t know but are the people who run the place.”
When it comes to John Calipari, Jones said that Barnhart made it clear the days of running the program without oversight from the administration are over.
“For years, it was on its own island that operated like a well-oiled machine. Now it’s on its own island where it’s Lord of the Flies. I think Mitch is saying that island is now gone. We’re going to organize this like we do football, like we do like every other sport. And I don’t think Cal loves that but I don’t think he had a choice. Because even he knows it can’t be like it was.”
Tonight, we’ll hear from Barnhart and Calipari’s take on it all. Check KSR this evening for updates.
