Mitch Barnhart will be on KSR Thursday morning
It’s been over two months since Kentucky athletics director Mitch Barnhart spoke to the media; a lot has happened since then. The NIL era of college athletics is in full swing, six football players are facing legal issues, there’s still a pandemic, and it appears we still won’t be able to buy beer at Kroger Field. On Thursday morning, Barnhart will be a guest on Kentucky Sports Radio to address it all.
Barnhart’s last media opportunity was on June 25 following Governor Beshear’s executive order allowing Kentucky student-athletes to profit off their Name, Image, and Likeness. At the time, Barnhart stressed prudence in UK’s approach to NIL. In the months since, Kentucky football, men’s basketball, women’s basketball, and track and field stars have signed NIL deals ranging from fast food endorsements, clothing and footwear collections, and partnerships with media companies (including yours truly).
With big issues in college athletics and here at home, Barnhart’s interview will be must-listen radio. Make sure you’re tuned in. I know where Ryan Lemond will be.
