How far will Kentucky advance in the NCAA Tournament in Mark Pope‘s first year as the Kentucky head coach? It’s a question we’re all asking around Big Blue Nation, but we aren’t the only ones.

The Madness is here. From age 8 to 88, everyone and anyone is filling out an NCAA Tournament bracket. While the five-year Sweet 16 drought might be hanging heavily on the minds of Kentucky basketball fans, that’s not the case for everyone.

The NCAA March Madness account is asking noteworthy names from across the sports world to share their brackets. Bobby Witt Jr. believes in Big Blue.

Name not familiar? The Kansas City Royals shortstop finished second in last year’s American League MVP vote after the All-Star led the league in hits (211) and batting average (.332) while smashing 32 long balls and driving in 109 runs. He knows a winner when he sees it, and that’s why he’s picking Kentucky to cut down the nets in San Antonio to win No. 9.

In an interesting twist, Witt Jr. is injecting a tantalizing storyline into his bracket. He has Mark Pope beating Rick Pitino in the final game of the season. That would be a full-circle moment nearly 30 years after the two won it all in the Meadowlands.

Go Away, Jack Gohlke

DeWitt is one of a few famous folks who are filling out brackets for the official March Madness account. One guy is ready to step back into the limelight and he’s still trolling Kentucky. Jack Gohlke became a household name for knocking down 10 three-pointers and scoring 32 points in an 80-76 upset of the Cats. He’s running it back and calling for Troy to knockout Kentucky in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

A Few Other Interesting Kentucky Predictions

Like many across Big Blue Nation, Andy Katz believes Kentucky has an Elite Eight run in them. He has the Cats knocking out UCLA in the Sweet 16, before falling to Houston. Cooper DeJean once beat Kentucky in the Music City Bowl. Now the former Iowa Hawkeye and Super Bowl Champion has the Cats falling to Houston in the Elite Eight.
