Murray and Jokic first teamed up at the 2014 Nike Hoop Summit
Before becoming NBA World Champions, Denver stars Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic were teammates at the 2014 edition of the Nike Hoop Summit, the under-19 summer showcase for American and international basketball prospects. Much-younger versions of Murray and Jokic teamed up for the 2014 World Team along with two more familiar University of Kentucky faces in Karl-Anthony Towns and Trey Lyles.
It’s our KSR Photo of the Day after Murray and Jokic won their first NBA championship last night in Denver:

Back in 2014, Murray and Jokic were on the other end of the scoreboard as the young international stars lost in the Nike Hoop Summit exhibition, 84-73, to a USA Team with another former Wildcat, Reid Travis, and several Duke stars in Jahlil Okafor, Tyus Jones, and Justice Winslow.
You can watch the entire game on YouTube for an early display of the Nuggets’ two-man game before they were Nuggets. Murray was the second-leading scorer with 10 points before his standout one year in Lexington a few years later.
Early reports on Jokic questioned his NBA potential.
