MUST-SEE: Stacey Sheppard hugs Justin Edwards after big win at Tennessee

The Sheppard and Edwards families have become the best of friends, developing a close-knit relationship from the minute they all arrived in Lexington this summer. You could see it in Toronto, then at every preseason event and throughout the regular season — inseparable.

They’ve been together through the ups and downs, Reed Sheppard even recommending his mental health coach to Justin Edwards when confidence wavered at various points. So when you can see momentum building for the versatile wing going into postseason play, you know who his top supporters are going to be.

That was clear following Kentucky’s gutsy win over Tennessee in Knoxville, Stacey Sheppard running over to Edwards and giving him a massive bear hug before he spoke to the media.

“After the season I’ve had, she’s been one of the people really rooting for me,” Edwards said of the interaction. “She was just telling me to stay the course. That’s why she’s so hyped for me.”
