The month of July has been kind to Mark Stoops’ coaching staff. Kentucky’s 2023 recruiting class has almost doubled in size. The month could end with a bang when Naquil Betrand announces where he will attend college.

The 6-foot-6, 320-pound offensive tackle from Philadelphia is ready to make a decision. He shared on social media that he will make his final commitment Saturday, July 30. Previously a pledge to Colorado, Naquil Betrand will choose between Kentucky, Auburn, Texas A&M, Georgia, Penn State and Syracuse.

Betrand is a three-star talent, ranked as the No. 65 offensive tackle in America according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

He officially visited three schools this summer. Kentucky got the first crack at it. The following week he went to Syracuse and Auburn. A few days ago Betrand said he will officially visit Texas A&M during the final week of July. Now he plans on announcing his decision that weekend. It’s unclear if he will be revealing his choice in College Station (likely the Aggies), or foregoing the OV to pick another school.

New UK offensive line coach Zach Yenser has already successfully landed one new member of the Big Blue Wall from Philadelphia, OG Austin Ramsey. Can he double up in his first summer of recruiting in Lexington? We’ll find out the answer to that question in a couple of weeks.
