Nate Ament‘s trip to Kentucky last month was expected to be his final official visit before going into decision-making mode, but a familiar face is sneaking in at the last minute.

According to On3’s Jamie Shaw, John Calipari and the Arkansas Razorbacks will host the five-star prospect for his last official visit in the coming days. Ament tells Shaw he’ll be in Fayetteville throughout the weekend and will attend Arkansas’ regular season home finale Saturday against No. 25 Mississippi State.

Ament is down to just five finalists ahead of a commitment, which is expected to come around the same time as the 2025 McDonald’s All-American game on April 1 in Brooklyn, NY. Along with Kentucky and Arkansas, he’s also considering Tennessee, Louisville, and Duke. Ament is ranked as the No. 4 overall prospect in the class of 2025.

Arkansas is the only school among Ament’s top five he has yet to officially visit. The 6-foot-9 wing first visited Louisville in mid-October before making a trip to Tennessee the following week. His official visit to Duke came in early February and was quickly followed by a trip to Kentucky. Wildcats head coach Mark Pope returned the favor almost immediately by going to watch Ament play in person just two days after his OV in Lexington wrapped up.

“Kentucky, I actually just came back from a visit from there but again, Coach Pope, high-character coach,” Ament said last month on The Youngins Sports Podcast. “Not just talking about Xs and Os, but as a person, he’s a high-character guy. That’s something you like to see as a player. But also his offense is one of the best in the nation. He gets up and down the floor, shoots the three very well, seeing that as a versatile player who does all those things is very tempting for sure.”

There does not appear to be a clear-cut favorite as Ament heads down the home stretch of his recruitment. Duke and Louisville have been mentioned more than the others as of late. Plus, the Blue Devils have been recruiting him longer than any of his other finalists. But Shaw did add Kentucky to that group of Duke and UL as the three schools he’s hearing most often in connection to Ament.

Pope currently has three high school commits locked in for the 2025-26 season: Jasper JohnsonAcaden Lewis, and Malachi Moreno. That trio ranks as the fifth-best class in the country. Adding Ament would be a massive recruiting win for Pope and his staff.
