NBA 2K24 Ratings for all former Kentucky players
Happy NBA 2K24 release weekend to all those who celebrate. Part of the anticipation around the yearly launch of the premiere basketball game in existence centers around the release of player ratings. While some of us are either too busy, too cheap, or too disinterested to actually buy the newest version of a slightly-tweaked video game year after year, the ratings release is still exciting as it slaps a single, well-understood, 1-100 score on every player’s overall abilities.
Even the players themselves enjoy seeing where they fall, almost unilaterally feeling as if they should be higher.
The 2024 release features a handful of Kentucky guys with ratings you’d expect and a few that are a bit surprising. Here is the complete list of players on current teams including their grades in both 3-point shooting and dunking.

Breakdown
Devin Booker topped the list of Kentucky players with an overall rating of 94. His rise to stardom has been fascinating to watch. He turned a struggling Phoenix Suns franchise into a premiere destination for the elite. With Kevin Durant (96 rating) and Bradley Beal (86 rating) forming a formidable big three, look for Booker to make a run for his first championship ring this season.
It is not uncommon to see a bit of a delay in rookie ratings releases, especially those like Oscar Tshiebwe who went undrafted. The creators of NBA2K need a little time to assess how good they actually are at a pro level. Other two-way players like Jacob Toppin, will likely be added to the game at a later date depending on how they develop in the G League.
Perhaps the most surprising ratings come out of Charlotte, as Nick Richards edged ahead of his former Kentucky teammate, PJ Washington, 72 to 71. Both Richards and Washington earned a three-year contract extension his summer, but Richards’ was for just $5 million per year while Washington garnered a whopping $16 million per season. Washington started most of the year for the Hornets and averaged 15.7 points per game while Richards played a bench role and scored just 7.9 points per contest. Evidently, the NBA 2K crew saw something special in third-year Nick Richards.
Other notable rankings include a big bump to Shai Gilgeous-Alexander who is now on superstar level with Anthony Davis (both with a 93 rating), Jarred Vanderbilt, who continues to be sneaky good with a 79 rating, and a revived Malik Monk who bumped up to an 80 after a great year with the Sacramento Kings, almost certainly ignited by his reunion with De’Aaron Fox (88 rating)
Free Agents
The list above shows players currently on teams, however, there are a handful of former Kentucky Wildcats in the free-agent pool. If nothing else, it is further proof that is basketball malpractice that no team has yet signed John Wall or Demarcus Cousins. Get it together, NBA!

It is also interesting to see Rajon Rondo on this list, as he almost assuredly retired, considering he toyed around with joining John Calipari’s staff this season.
The good news is that these guys are available for anyone interested in building an All-Kentucky team and chasing a virtual NBA title.

NBA 2K Bonus: Red Panda!
While there is surely a large swath of basketball enthusiasts eager to dive into a simulation featuring superstars like Booker, Davis, and Gilgeous-Alexander, this year’s version also features the GOAT.
That’s right, the most electrifying halftime entertainer on the planet, Red Panda can be found in NBA 2K24.
So before you just mash buttons to get through the halftime screens and back to game action, take a minute to see if you can spot Red Panda riding her ridiculously tall unicycle and slinging several bowls at once on top of her head.
It may be animated, but it will at least hold you over until her next appearance at Rupp Arena.
