NBA is back!

by:Nick Adams•10/29/13
Tonight marks the start of the 2013-2014 NBA Regular Season. There are a total of three games tonight, with potentially four former Kentucky Wildcats playing. The rest of the NBA kicks off throughout the week, with 14 games being played Wednesday. As John Calipari mentioned earlier, the Cats now have 22 players in the NBA. The jerseys of Nerlens Noel and Archie Goodwin can also be added to the above picture. Doron Lamb is looking to improve his game in his second year. Unfortunately it is with the Orlando Magic, who are going to be one of the worst teams in the league this season. Lamb is not expected to contribute right away however, as he is still dealing with a knee injury. Lamb is currently listed as day-to-day so it will be interesting to see whether he does end up playing tonight. Prediction: Indiana Pacers 101- 85 Orlando Magic In the most anticipated season opener, the Bulls take on the Heat at American Airlines Arena. Derrick Rose is back, as he is coming back from a torn ACL injury. This will be the first game back for Rose, and it definitely makes this game more entertaining. Marquis Teague will be backing up Rose tonight, as he is currently listed second on the depth chart for point guards. Nazr Mohammed is also playing tonight, and should see a higher than normal amount of minutes due to Joakim Noah’s lingering groin injury. Noah is expected to suit up, but may be forced to play limited minutes, as the last thing the Bulls want to do is aggravate the injury the first game of the season. These two teams hate each other, and it has been reported that the two teams do not shake hands before the game. In the Eastern Conference semifinals of last season, Mohammed shoved LeBron James to the floor and he got ejected for it. This game will most likely get a little chippy and the referees will promptly dish out technical fouls early to try and keep the game under control. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TBmXbv1n7T0   Prediction: Miami Heat 95 — 88 Chicago Bulls In the night cap, the two Los Angeles teams face off. Jodie Meeks should continue to start and see quality minutes as long as Kobe Bryant is still recovering from a torn Achilles. Unfortunately for Meeks, this game is most likely going to be a blow out. Kobe Bryant was just recently cleared to run on hard ground, so this should provide Meeks a great opportunity to prove why he deserves minutes, even when Bryant comes back. Prediction: LAC 107- LAL 93   @LittleNicky_KSR
