NC State transfer with Kentucky interest, Isaiah Miranda, commits to Oklahoma State
Go ahead and take Isaiah Miranda off Kentucky’s board of transfer targets.
On Sunday morning, On3’s Joe Tipton reported that Miranda, who was in the transfer portal after spending one season at NC State, has committed to the Oklahoma State Cowboys. Miranda had been contacted by the Kentucky coaching staff in early May, KSR’s Jack Pilgrim reported at the time, and was even recruited by the Wildcats during his senior year of high school.
Miranda, who clocks in at 7-foot-1, 205 pounds, was a member of the Wolfpack during the 2022-23 season but did not appear in a game. He was considered a four-star prospect and the No. 40 overall recruit from the 2022 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking.
A scholarship offer from UK never came to fruition for Miranda out of high school and the versatile center wound up signing with NC State, enrolling early. He would become eligible to participate starting in December, but never took the floor for the Wolfpack, using his freshman season as a redshirt year. He then declared for the NBA Draft while maintaining his college eligibility to open the offseason before ultimately entering the transfer portal and then committing to Oklahoma State.

Kentucky assistant coach Orlando Antigua, like in his original high school recruitment, reached out on behalf of UK in May. Miranda also considered UCF, Villanova, Georgetown, and Florida State as potential transfer destinations, according to Stadium’s Jeff Goodman.
There are still plenty of options out there for the Wildcats though. On Saturday night, news surfaced that a pair of 2023 prospects, Joey Hart and Jordan Burks, will visit Lexington this coming week. Kentucky currently has just seven rotational pieces on the roster for next season.
