NEED TO KNOW: Kentucky vs. Georgetown College
It’s basketball time in the Bluegrass, and we’re less than an hour away from tip-off of Kentucky’s first official (exhibition) game of the year. Here’s what you need to know:
The game will be broadcast on the SEC Network beginning at 5 p.m. Tom Hart and Jimmy Dykes will call the action on TV, while Tom Leach and Mike Pratt will have the UK radio network call on 630 AM. You can also stream the game using the ESPN App. Chime in on the KSR live blog here once the game begins.
The Georgetown College Tigers are coming to town for the game. Their head coach is Chris Briggs, who graduated from the University of Kentucky. The Tigers are the defending NAIA National Champions.
After UK’s pregame notes listed an interesting starting lineup, John Calipari later clarified he was still deciding on who would start in the Wildcats’ first game of the season. The pregame notes listed the lineup as Ashton Hagans, Tyrese Maxey, Khalil Whitney, EJ Montgomery and Nick Richards.
