New Kentucky staff contacts 4-star '25 SG Jordan Scott

Mark Pope has made it a point that Kentucky men’s basketball will continue to go after top-ranked high school prospects — just not to the degree that the previous coaching staff did. Class of 2025 recruits such as Jasper Johnson, Darryn Peterson, Will Riley, and Malachi Moreno are among the limited names we’ve already heard with interest from Pope and his new staff.
We can go ahead and add another one to the growing list: four-star shooting guard Jordan Scott out of Reston (VA) South Lakes.
According to On3’s Jamie Shaw, Scott, a 6-foot-5, 165-pound rising senior, is beginning to hear from the Wildcats.
“Kentucky has shown some interest, but they have not offered yet,” Scott said, adding that he wasn’t recruited by Pope when the head coach was at BYU. “They just called and were asking about my day and getting to know me. That is really the only school that I have talked with that hasn’t offered yet.”

Scott is considered the No. 73 overall recruit from the 2025 cycle, per the On3 Industry Ranking.
So far, Scott has taken a trio of official visits to Florida State and Washington. Both of those visits happened in the fall though, and the previous Washington staff is no longer there. He holds additional offers from the likes of Michigan State, Maryland, Virginia Tech, Indiana, and more. Michigan State head coach Tom Izzo paid Scott an in-home visit last week.
Right now, there is no current timeline for a possible commitment, which should be good news for Pope and Co. if they elect to go all-in on Scott.
